Bror Gunnar Jansson Concert
MONDAY, March 11, 2019 – 8 p.m.
Place des Arts – Salle Claude-Léveillée, 175 Rue Sainte-Catherine, Montréal
Having charmed Scandinavia and France, Swedish bluesman Bror Gunnar Jansson is on his way to conquer Quebec!
In 2017, the Festival closed its second edition with the performance of this unusual one-man band who, according to the French music magazine Les Inrockuptibles, “takes contemporary blues one step further.” The Swedish is finally back for several performances in Quebec before flying off to the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. FIKA(S) will host Bror Gunnar Jansson, who will present the songs of his new album scheduled this year to the public of Salle Claude-Léveillée at Place des Arts.
The following performances are part of the microbreweries tour of Quebec: March 7: Caveau de TROIS-PISTOLES, March 8: Pit Caribou, PERCÉ, March 9: La Fabrique, MATANE, March 10: Coop PARADIS, RIMOUSKI
Bror Gunnar Jansson is a Swedish one-man band who unleashes a garage-style hybrid of blues, country, and folk. He is an enigmatic performer who can ooze backwoodsy and minimalistic laments as well as unleash ferociously angular and devastatingly powerful breakdowns.
Bror Gunnar Jansson a.k.a… = One-man-band from Göteborg, Sweden playing rough country-blues-garage, work songs and mountain ballads on megaphone, guitars and drums – all at the same time!
