In order to celebrate all nordicities and to underline Québec’s belonging to this concept intimately linked to Scandinavian and Nordic countries, the FIKA(S) Festival opens its 2024 concert series with special guest Frannie Holder. Frannie will perform unique replays of Scandinavian and Nordic artists followed by a concert of her own compositions.
Frannie Holder is an accomplished singer, songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and stage director from Montreal. A founding member of pop/hip-hop group Random Recipe and electro-folk band Dear Criminals, the highly versatile artist began her music career in 2007. Focusing on their live show, the critically acclaimed Random Recipe quickly began playing concerts all around the world. For their part, Dear Criminals are renowned for employing a multidisciplinary creative process that includes collaborations with theatre, contemporary dance, opera, digital arts and film productions. The music they composed for the feature film NELLY won them the IRIS for Best Original Score at the Gala Québec Cinéma in 2017.
